On August 3 Bydgoszcz will meet the winner of the first stage of this year’s Tour the Pologne. The race, which is among the major cycling events in the world, is returning to the city, and it’s going to be in its finest.

Tour de Pologne is a European brand and the largest cyclical sporting event in Poland. The first stage of the 71st edition of the race, which will cover the distance from Gdańsk to Bydgoszcz, will be 226 km long. The contestants will enter city by way of Unisław. They will  ride across  the Fordoński Bridge, and then further down Fordońka St., al. Kardynała Wyszyńskiego St., Skłodowskiej-Curie St., and trasa Uniwersytecka (with a mountain stage bonus at the junction with Wojska Polskiego St.). Then they will turn around and head back into Powstańców Wielkopolskich St.,  cycling across Weyssenhoffa Square, down Piotrowskiego St. and finally into Jagiellońska St.
