In the heart of the city, you will find plenty of parking options, including multi-level parking structures (situated at Pod Blankami St., 23 Jagiellońska St., and 15 Grudziądzka St.). These are excellent choices to leave your vehicle if your hotel lacks parking facilities or is situated further away from downtown.
Begin your Bydgoszcz adventure by stopping by the Bydgoszcz Information Center (2 Batorego St.). Our team will assist you with insights about the city, provide maps and promotional brochures, and help you purchase tickets for the upcoming river cruise, which is the next highlight of the day.

Make your way to the Old Town Bridge to capture the most iconic vista in Bydgoszcz: the "Man Crossing the River" monument backdropped by the historic Granaries along the Brda. This spot is an essential highlight of any visit. Once you have taken your photos, proceed to the dock situated at Rybi Rynek. This scenic river cruise stands out as a true visitor favorite and a top city attraction. Operating throughout the tourist season (from May to September), the tram services two distinct routes: the Old Town Line and the Sunny Line. Embarking on this journey provides an incredible opportunity to view the city from the unique perspective of the Brda River and witness historic water engineering landmarks operating in practice.
Should you have a few moments to spare before boarding, we highly recommend visiting the Lemara Barge to immerse yourself in fascinating skippers' tales.

12:30 PM – 2:00 PM: A stroll through the historic Old Town

Marcin Zaborowski
The Old Market Square (Stary Rynek) serves as the city’s central plaza, originally established in 1346 by King Casimir the Great, and famously intersected by the 18th meridian. As the hour hits 1:13 PM, be sure to linger on the square to witness the mechanical sculpture of Pan Twardowski appearing from the window of townhouse no. 15. According to local legend, the famous sorcerer stayed in our city in 1560, where he "worked all kinds of magic." The grand white edifice across the square is the City Hall, while located just alongside is the oldest preserved building in Bydgoszcz—the Cathedral. The interior of this late-Gothic sanctuary holds exceptionally precious historical treasures that are a must-see for every visitor.
From the cathedral steps, make your way to Mill Island (Wyspa Młyńska)—a lush green oasis nestled in the very heart of Bydgoszcz. The island is home to four branches of the Leon Wyczółkowski District Museum: the Archaeological Collections, the Leon Wyczółkowski House, the Modern Art Gallery, and the European Money Center. The dominant feature of the landscape is the historic Rother’s Mills. Once a bustling industrial complex, the Mills have been transformed into a vibrant Center for Science and Culture. Beyond its rich cultural program, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Old Town from the observation deck, unwind on the terrace, and experience various events and exhibitions. This includes three permanent showcases: the historical "Nodes. A City on the River Story", the hands-on "Mill-Machine" science exhibition, and SOWA (Discovery, Imagination, and Activity Zone)—a popular-science space established in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Warsaw's Copernicus Science Centre.
Guided tours are highly recommended throughout the summer holiday season.

Hop on your bike and cycle to Myślęcinek – a route for avid cyclists
From the heart of the "Music District," make your way to the nearest Bydgoszcz Agglomeration Bicycle station (on Aleje Adama Mickiewicza). Grab a rental bike and head down Gdańska Street straight to Myślęcinek. Covering 830 hectares—including nearly 500 hectares of lush forest—Myślęcinek is one of Poland's largest urban parks. It boasts a wide range of attractions, including a zoo, an amusement park, a ski slope, the "Lost World" dinosaur theme park, a golf course, and a wake park. Once you’ve wrapped up your cycling adventure, head back to the city center to enjoy dinner.

Kayaks on the Brda: Downtown water adventures
If water activities are more your style instead of a trip to Myślęcinek, head down to the Bydgoszcz Marina on Mill Island. You can rent a pedal boat or a kayak there to cruise the Brda River right in the heart of the city.
A Day in Stary Fordon
Instead of heading back to the city center after visiting the Exploseum head to Stary Fordon. Here, the history of three cultures—Polish, Jewish, and German—has woven itself into a unique story etched into the walls of a former synagogue, churches, and a prison. It’s a must-see for those seeking urban mysteries and lovers of Vistula River landscapes.
If you have enough time—it’s very close from here to Ostromecko near Bydgoszcz, with its charming Palace and Park Complex.
See you next time!
