The Możdżer-Danielsson-Fresco Trio has achieved unprecedented success in Poland—a feat previously reserved for popular music acts. Sold-out concert halls and albums reaching the very top of the sales charts are quite surprising achievements for a band playing improvised music. The secret to this success likely lies in the band’s melodic and refined sound, underpinned by the impressive virtuosity of all three musicians.

Lars Danielsson is one of Europe’s finest jazz double bassists. An extremely experienced musician, he plays avant-garde jazz and so-called “mainstream jazz” with equal ease. His discography includes recordings of classical, pop, and world music. The classically trained bassist has an excellent rapport with the Polish piano virtuoso Leszek Możdżer, who moves just as effortlessly through various musical styles and possesses a very similar sensibility. The third artist—Zohar Fresco—is a well-known figure in the world of frame drums. His virtuosity and vision have earned him many students and followers.

The Możdżer-Danielsson-Fresco Trio creates music that is beautiful in form, impressive in virtuosity, and represents a rare fusion of musical worlds —the refined sound of classical music, the melodic poetics of jazz, spacious arrangements, virtuoso displays, and the intricate rhythms of Far Eastern percussion art.
