“Facing current challenges for dams”

The Polish Committee on Large Dams (POLCOLD) is pleased to invite you to the 13th ICOLD European Club Symposium, which will be held September 21–25, 2026, in Bydgoszcz, Poland. During this meeting, we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of CFBR/French-COLD, founded in 2026.

The seminar will focus in particular on water management conditions, the most common operational problems, maintenance, failures, and other events, including extreme weather phenomena. It will be a great

opportunity to exchange our European experience and knowledge of dam engineering and levees.

One of the afternoon sessions will be devoted to the history and achievements of CFBR/French-COLD. Together, we will celebrate the anniversary with our French friends.

A visit to significant dams in the vicinity of Bydgoszcz is planned for all participants. It will be a pleasure to present to you some examples of dams constructed in the 1930s as part of a development program implemented after regaining independence.
