The "Bydgoszcz Sound Festival" is a continuation and expansion of the long-standing tradition of the Summer Concerts at Bydgoszcz Cathedral, with the ultimate goal of becoming a year-round event. The Festival’s concept is to bring together renowned artists and representatives of the Bydgoszcz music community, as well as outstanding instrumentalists and creators from across Poland. The Festival will include regular All Souls’ Day events: All Souls’ Day in Antoni and the All Souls’ Day Concert at the Church of the Holy Cross, as well as various initiatives by Tomasz Kłeczek, an outstanding pianist and harpsichordist. The BFD will also make a guest appearance in Toruń, at the Burgher Hall of the Old Town Hall.

The festival is free and open to the public. It is organized in collaboration with local institutions, contributing to the city’s rich cultural offerings and strengthening Bydgoszcz’s identity as a creative hub aligned with the principles of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.

Music – City – Memory in the Sounds of Bydgoszcz
The festival’s guiding principle is an idea by Andrzej Szwalby: understanding culture as a common good, building a strong musical identity for Bydgoszcz, and integrating artistic communities around ambitious and long-term projects.
The Festival is organized by the Andrzej Szwalbe Heritage Association, and the Festival’s artistic director is the Association’s President, Paweł Pawłowicz.
