Join us for a meeting with Krzysztof P. Czyżewski, author of historical thrillers, who unravels the mysteries of Toruń and recalls the turbulent history of this border city. The starting point for our conversation with the writer will be his latest book, *Rafael’s Guardian*. The novel’s heroine is well known to readers (from the author’s previous work, *Ostrakon: Da Vinci and Copernicus—A Meeting the Vatican Would Prefer to Forget*). Łucja Rokosz.

The plot centers on a commission to determine the origin of a pocket watch, which an antique shop employee received from a mysterious man. The trail leads to the lost collection of Princess Czartoryska. Together with a group of friends, she sets out in search of a treasure that has been capturing the imagination of historians and art hunters for decades, and a series of dramatic events leads them across Europe and into the dark secrets of World War II.
