“In My Magical Forest”

That’s where I feel truly at ease; that’s where I escape to in difficult times. It’s always been that way. My magical forest isn’t just one specific place. It’s everywhere I can find it. It’s in the Teple River valley in Karlovy Vary, where it literally merges with this beautiful city; it’s in the Romanian Carpathians—a stunning landscape of spruce, fir, and beech. In the Janowicki Ore Mountains and the Karkonosze Mountains, where I live and work.

I like to wander through it with my large-format camera. It is with this simple tool that I bring fragments of this beautiful world home with me. I’m taking you on a journey through my magical forest via thirty hand-made contact prints from a 4x5-inch negative.

The opening will take place at 6:00 p.m. at the Museum’s headquarters at 52 Karpacka Street in Bydgoszcz.
