Remains of the city walls

Three small sections of Bydgoszcz’s city walls have survived to the present day. The length of the surviving sections accounts for approximately one-fifth of the original perimeter, though most of them bear traces of modern-era alterations.

The first section, approximately 26 meters long, is located at 4–6 Pod Blankami Street. It is the oldest and most interesting section of the defensive wall.

The second section, approximately 33 meters long, runs along Pod Blankami Street, Nos. 8–10. The wall is visible from both the outer side (the city moat) and the inner side.

The third section, approximately 42 meters long, is located in the central part of the city at Pod Blankami Street Nos. 22–28. Following conservation work carried out in 1992–93, it is the best-preserved section of the defensive wall.
