The "Bydgoszcz Sound Festival" is a continuation and expansion of the long-standing tradition of the Summer Concerts at Bydgoszcz Cathedral, with the ultimate goal of becoming a year-round event. The Festival’s concept is to bring together renowned artists and representatives of Bydgoszcz’s music community, as well as outstanding instrumentalists and creators from all over Poland. The Festival’s program will include regular All Souls’ Day events: All Souls’ Day in Antoni and the All Souls’ Day Concert at the Church of the Holy Cross, as well as various initiatives by Tomasz Kłeczek, an outstanding pianist and harpsichordist. The BFD will also make a guest appearance in Toruń, at the Town Hall of the Old Town.

The festival is free and open to the public. It is organized in collaboration with local institutions, contributing to the city’s rich cultural offerings and strengthening Bydgoszcz’s identity as a creative hub aligned with the principles of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.

Music – City – Memory in the Sounds of Bydgoszcz
The Festival’s guiding principle is an idea by Andrzej Szwalbe: understanding culture as a common good, building a strong musical identity for Bydgoszcz, and uniting artistic communities around ambitious, long-term projects.
The Festival is organized by the Andrzej Szwalbe Heritage Association, and the Festival’s artistic director is the Association’s president, Paweł Pawłowicz.
