ERASERHEAD XIU XIU (US) | CONCERT | FONOMO

Date: October 17, 2026
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Venue: Municipal Cultural Center in Bydgoszcz

Following their “Plays the Music of Twin Peaks” project, Xiu Xiu once again delve into the world of David Lynch. This time, however, they are not interpreting an existing soundtrack, but presenting a new multimedia spectacle inspired by “Eraserhead”—Lynch’s feature-length debut and one of the most distinctive works in his filmography.

ERASERHEAD XIU XIU combines a concert and a film screening, but it is not a standard film soundtrack. The starting point remains the unsettling atmosphere, grotesque elements, surrealism, and darkness of “Eraserhead,” which are filtered through the band’s own aesthetic.

Xiu Xiu utilize field recordings, specially prepared instruments, organs, modular synthesizers, vocals, electrical interference, and elements of musique concrète. The original sound designs of Alan Splet and David Lynch serve as a reference point for them in creating new compositions and visual narratives. The result is a form that lies somewhere between a concert, an installation, and an audiovisual performance.
