The music world is celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of Johann Strauss Jr.—the undisputed king of the waltz and one of the greatest showmen of the 19th century. His music, full of elegance, lightness, and Viennese charm, continues to delight listeners around the world.

To mark this occasion, a unique concert has been created that takes the audience on a true journey through time—to the era of balls, crinolines, and Vienna’s dance-filled salons. The program will feature the most beautiful melodies by Strauss and his contemporaries, interwoven with fascinating stories about the composer’s life and career. Among the pieces performed will be his greatest hits, such as “On the Beautiful Blue Danube,” “Fame Is a Joke,” and “Adela’s Aria,” as well as lesser-known gems like “Orłowski’s Couplets” and “Ninana, Ninana.”

In Memory of the King of the Waltz! Strauss’s Most Beautiful Operettas

The stage will feature outstanding artists: Roksana Korban (soprano), Justyna Gęsicka (mezzo-soprano), and alternating tenors: Krzysztof Zimny or Szymon Rona, who will captivate the audience with their voices and interpretations of Strauss’s gems—the artist’s most beautiful compositions and operettas. The role of Johann Strauss himself will be played by Wojciech Kołaczyk or Jacek Dominiczak, talented violinists who will enchant the audience with their virtuosity and stage charisma. Excerpts from *The Gypsy Baron*, *A Night in Venice*, and *Die Fledermaus* will evoke the golden age of Viennese operetta!

Emilia Czekała will recount the composer’s colorful life, his successes, and musical anecdotes with charm and humor, while the Bydgoszcz Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Marek Czekała, will provide the operetta music, making the audience’s hearts beat to the rhythm of the waltz!

It will be an evening full of music, emotion, and elegance—a true celebration of Strauss!
