About the project:
The priority of our project is to transcend boundaries. In a world so diverse and heterogeneous, the concept of transgression seems to take center stage. Moving beyond stereotypes—including in art—can help contemporary people navigate a world full of conflicts, dangers, paradoxes, and misunderstandings. To this day, this situation has not changed, because in the face of new threats, people are confronted with new challenges, problems, and discoveries.
Among these are new theories describing humanity, its place in the world, and the universe itself—theories that are often mutually exclusive. The ancient and Renaissance-era quest for the truth about the cosmos was continued by Newton, Einstein, and Hawking. Quantum physics, which was the scientific revolution of the 20th century, revealed a lack of coherence and complementarity among its various branches. The concepts of time and space have shifted from their original meaning—that of a static dimension. This has influenced the perception and consciousness of modern humans, whose psyche is not dependent on religion, culture, or place of birth. This discovery by Sigmund Freud convinced us that it provides the perfect canvas for creating a two-act opera that addresses the fears of the world in the third decade of the 21st century.

The contemporary transgressive opera “LUSTRO” is part of the project The Platform of Newly Created Transgressive Sounds (TPONTS), included in the City of Bydgoszcz’s application for admission to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.

This year’s edition of the LUSTRO opera platform is the culmination of three years of work and represents a complete presentation of the full-length opera LUSTRO in its final form, with its final cast and staging.
