Colors from the Garden — a workshop on natural fabric dyeing. Led by: Magda Sklepowicz

Participants: limited to 10 people, ages 16 and up, free admission
Registration: masklepowicz@gmail.com

Colors from the Garden — a workshop on natural fabric dyeing. During the workshop, we’ll explore the possibilities of natural plant-based dyes, treating fabric as a canvas for creative experimentation. We’ll use both the traditional shibori technique and more free-form, painterly methods of applying dyes to fabric. We’ll use plant-based materials and everyday items—such as turmeric, hibiscus, and coffee—to observe how colors, stains, and unique patterns emerge. The workshop will be an opportunity to experiment with color and texture and to discover the artistic potential of nature.

Magda Sklepowicz—a visual artist and painting student at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. Her work is inspired by nature, folk art, and ethnography. She is particularly interested in the world of plants, their properties, and the possibilities for using them in artistic practice. She seeks creative potential in natural materials and traditional craft techniques, combining them with an experimental, painterly approach to color and form. She is the creator of and a participant in artistic and workshop projects in which nature serves as a starting point for discovering new ways of working with materials.
