Loom Weaving Workshops – From the Basics to Choosing Patterns

The bwa City Gallery invites you to loom weaving workshops. This is a unique technique for creating narrow strips of fabric that are perfect for use as straps for dresses or pants, guitar straps, costume trims, hair accessories, hats, or jewelry components. The workshop will be led by an expert in this field—Kinga Willim. The gallery will provide all necessary materials. The participation fee is 30 zlotys. The workshop will take place on November 18, but please note that registration closes on November 6 (contact: danutapalys@galeriabwa.bydgoszcz.pl). The full terms and conditions are available on the Gallery’s website.

Workshop schedule:
4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. – basics of loom weaving – familiarization with the tool and basic weaving techniques through the creation of a narrow bracelet.
5:00 PM – 5:30 PM – break; discussion of insights from the first attempt; rules for creating your own patterns based on the basic method.
5:30 PM – 8:00 PM – preparing the warp for selvedge weaving, selecting patterns, and working on a folk-style selvedge that can be used as a clothing embellishment, key chain, ribbon, or belt.
