A family-friendly play for audiences ages 8 and up, based on the iconic novel by Astrid Lindgren, author of *The Children of Bullerbyn*.

Ronja, the daughter of a bandit chieftain, spends her days in a vast forest, where she encounters only wild horses, the Windblowers, the Gray Ones, and the Pupishons. However, one day she meets Birk there, a boy her age who—as it turns out—is the son of a group of robbers rivaling her family. The children’s initial mistrust gradually turns into friendship; eventually, Ronja and Birk run away from their families and go to live together in Bear Cave. The children show the adults that friendship knows no bounds.

“Ronia, the Robber’s Daughter” is a magical tale about the strength of girls and the power of friendship. But it is also a story of coming of age in a world divided by fear, anger, violence, and mistrust. What adventures will Ronja and Birk encounter in the great forest? Will they manage to reconcile the feuding groups of robbers? Find out at our theater!
