The beautiful great-granddaughter of Bydgoszcz’s Łuczniczka—Łuczniczka Nova—was unveiled to mark the city’s 667th anniversary. The sculpture was created by Toruń-based artist Maciej Jagodziński-Jagenmeer. Inspired by Lepcki’s work, the artist created a dynamic and sensual sculpture.

Although Łuczniczka Nova is a slender and athletic woman, she is by no means light. Made of bronze, she weighs 200 kg and, together with her pedestal, stands 3 meters tall. Coated with a layer of shiny chrome, she glistens beautifully in the spring sunshine. Although Nova is new to the city, she will soon become a natural part of the landscape surrounding Mill Island and will be etched in the minds of residents and tourists alike as yet another symbol of Bydgoszcz.
