We are launching a new version of the Bydgoszcz tourism website. Thank you for your patience.

The Vistula Festival (Festiwal Wisły) is Poland's largest river festival celebrating traditional waterway heritage. One of its main stages is Bydgoszcz, taking place along the scenic riverfront in the historic Stary Fordon district.

About the Festival

The festival offers a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere of the Vistula River valley. Visitors can sample regional dishes and drinks, discover the secrets of traditional river crafts (a major hit for families with kids), enjoy live concerts, and watch open-air performances. You can even hop aboard a boat for a cruise with real rafters—people whose lives are still deeply intertwined with the river.

One of the absolute highlights is the parade of traditional wooden riverboats. The evening procession is particularly spectacular, featuring glowing torches and a vibrant pyrotechnics display.

The festival takes place every year in August.
