Information from the Organizer:
Daydreams, nightmares, dreams, deceptively charming creatures. The song of the sirens and a cosmic adventure of skeletons. The thousandth self-portrait with a charming title.

Nati Bygie Szymkowiak is a young artist and a painting student at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, who seeks to use her art to transport the viewer from everyday life to a place full of sweet lies.

To fill the landscape of the small town where she grew up, she creates a world by her own rules—unfortunately, not everyone agrees with these rules, but her spirited and proud rebelliousness stands by her side.

The artist expresses her art in such a way that everyone can find something both familiar and foreign.

This is the first in a series of exhibitions featuring young artists from the “Pictura Nova” group in Toruń: Natalia “Bygie” Szymkowiak! We began discussions several months ago, and we’ve finally gotten down to specifics—this exhibition is the first result of those efforts. We decided to hold solo exhibitions; I believe this allows visitors to immerse themselves much more deeply in a given artist’s work and better understand what a series of paintings depicts and why.
