The last evening of the year. In a house cut off from the rest of the world by a snowstorm, the nobleman Zawalnia meets travelers and old acquaintances.

With every passing hour, the space fills up and comes alive with mystical tales and fairy tales from the Polotsk region, weaving together the real world and the fairy-tale world, ancient languages, and tales of werewolves, various spirits, mourners, and magical herbs.

The performance becomes a sensual horror experience and an insight into human madness, an attempt to delve into stories that go unheard today and to rediscover faith in a world we can no longer quite believe in.

Before midnight strikes, step inside.

Someone is still waiting in the old house.

This project was co-funded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage as part of the “Linguistic Diversity” grant program of the Institute of Linguistic Diversity of the Republic of Poland.

Running time: 70 minutes, no intermission | Screening with English subtitles
