This has undoubtedly become a Bydgoszcz tradition. For the past ten years, on November 11—Independence Day—the 10th November Music Lesson has been performed and presented on stage at the Municipal Cultural Center in Bydgoszcz —a combination of a performance by the “Płomienie” Song and Dance Ensemble and invited guests, enriched by the narrator’s stories.

The 10th November Music Lesson will transport the audience into the colorful world of artistic Bydgoszcz. The event will be an opportunity to encounter history, music, dance, and figures who have left a lasting mark on Bydgoszcz’s culture. The performance will feature songs associated with the work of Jeremi Przybora, evoking the atmosphere of years gone by. Audiences will also learn about the history of the Municipal Theater in Bydgoszcz and the life of Pola Negri, a silent film star with a special connection to our city who achieved international fame.

An important element of the program will be Polish national dances, showcasing the richness and beauty of our native dance heritage. The 10th November Music Lesson will combine an artistic presentation with a narrative about the past, showing how music, theater, and dance reflect the spirit of their era. This event is for everyone who wants to discover history through the arts and celebrate the richness of Bydgoszcz’s culture together.

The performance is part of the celebrations marking the 680th anniversary of Bydgoszcz’s founding, highlighting the importance of local history and its connections to Poland’s national heritage.
